The series is based on the Donkey Kong Country series, a Super Nintendo Entertainment System series of games. Donkey Kong Land stars Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong Land 2 stars Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong and Donkey Kong Land 3 stars Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong, who travel through numerous levels in order to defeat King K. The Donkey Kong Land series is an 8-bit video-game series in the Donkey Kong franchise, created by Rareware for the Game Boy systems.
